Updating my friends' and colleagues'

e-mails

For the 175th anniversary of 7 Portes Restaurant, we drew up a list of friends who we thought might like to celebrate with us. Recently, I’ve had other reasons to put together address lists, and in doing so I’ve found many business cards and e-mails of people I have met over the years. Some were people it was hard to say goodbye to, the kind you would love to meet again, the ones with whom you are sure you could build a strong friendship if you had the opportunity.

 

There are times in life when the combination of age and experience, as well as a touch of vanity, makes us believe that we have something to share. This desire, added to the feeling that we should keep in better touch with real and potential friends, has made me decide to write a newsletter.

 

Once the purpose is clear and the format settled, it was necessary to consider the contents: topics linked to my life up to now. Basically, my professional life has been dedicated to science and paellas. On the scientific side, I have worked in two fields: applied economics and management sciences. On the restaurateur side, in addition to the family business, I have always had a strong interest in the history of cooking and recipe books. In the field of gastronomy, I try to keep up with culinary trends through reflection and by reading blogs and specialized magazines, accompanied by constant professional practice.

 

If a newsletter was to be sent out, it had to be done right! So this two-monthly newsletter, with a deliberately professional tone, is thought out and written by me. I hope you enjoy it and get something from it. If not, you can always unsubscribe, though of course I would be happier if you didn’t!
